  • Joining JCB?

  • Needs an earlier meeting time for time zone reasons

• Celeste: Foundation community committee

  • Want a way for the board to contribute in a way that doesn’t override the community.

  • Don’t want the board to be driving the community -- community should drive the community!

  • Proposal:

    • Anoint JCB as liaison to board. Anything this group needs can have a direct line to the board.

    • Anyone on the board who wants to participate in community building can join JCB.

    • This model is familiar to LF

    • Jason: How does this affect our ability to tap in to funding? How does that work? Right now we use CFP.

      • Celeste: One way is to submit an ad-hoc proposal for funding, works best with a 1-pager document with specific amount, time bound, etc.

      • Celeste: More informal way is to DM Celeste on Zulip and ask her to bring it up in the board meeting.

    • Jason: Valuable to be able to pull people in from foundation members

    • Jason: Do we want to grow JCB?

      • Matt: Yes!
